The Walking Football Federation Australia (WFFA) today launched the official Foreveroos team anthem, Spirit of the Foreveroos, now available on Spotify and digital platforms.
Created by an Australian player and Foreveroo, the anthem captures the pride, passion and community spirit of Walking Football — a fast-growing sport for Australians over 40 that emphasises fitness, friendship, and inclusion.
Every stream of the anthem contributes to fundraising, with listeners able to purchase the track for $15. All proceeds go directly to WFFA to support the growth of Walking Football nationwide and to back the Foreveroos as they represent Australia at the FIWFA World Nations Cup in Spain this October.
“Walking Football has given so many Australians the chance to stay active, connected and proud to represent their communities,” said Lee Pepper WFFA Vice President and Foreveroo Squad Leader.
“The Spirit of the Foreveroos anthem is not just our song — it’s a call for all Australians to be part of this movement.”
With six Foreveroos teams competing in Spain, Women’s 40s, 50s, 60s and Men’s 50s, 60s, 70s, the Dance in the Dust version of the anthem will serve as a rallying cry for players as they enter the stadium during the tournament’s opening ceremony. Families and supporters at home and abroad are sure to find a favourite among the 16 unique versions of the song. So much choice covering genres from the Latin feel of Tangol to the hard core Scream for the Team. Supporters are encouraged to listen, stream and share their favourite with us.
The campaign runs throughout October, coinciding with the team’s journey in Spain.
